About Podium

Who are Podium Driving School?

Podium is a driving school made up of individual self employed driving instructors, all with a similar goal and passion... Deliver outstanding driving lessons and ensure their business keep up with market changes and always strive to add aditional value.
We offer bespoke driver training packages, be it the regular weekly lessons or the more intensive driving courses and everything inbetween.

Why should I purchase a driving lesson or course with Podium Driving School?

Firstly we are large enough to compete with deman but small enough to care, personally. Your achievements really do matter and it's why we started our adventure.

We offer regular weekly driving lessons as well as bespoke, made for you intensive and semi-intensive driving courses.

Additionally to being qualified ADI's, we have more learning aids and techniques than you can shake a stick at. Take our logbook for example, this alone can shave off approximately 10 hours of training you would otherwise need in the vehicle.
You can expect unrivaled service at every step from all of our DVSA ADIs' (approved driving instructors).

We hope you can now see why our reviews on Google and Yell are so positive!

Intensive Driving Lessons

What's an Intensive Driving Course?

Typically, intensive driving lessons are longer in duration and usually taken over a shorter period i.e 20 hours in 2 weeks. What's different about our courses? We don't mind how intensive you take the course. You're free to agree the duration and time scale that suits your needs and situation with your driving instructor when you get assigned. It is important that you get the right course for you - everyone will learn at a different speed and in their own way. If you have any concerns, our office team are always on hand to help answer your questions and guide you through the process.

What's included in your Intensive Driving Courses?

Our intensive driving courses offer everything you need and more! We guarantee you will always receive:

  • 1-to-1 Client-centred tuition from a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor or Potential Driving Instructor
  • Your driving test fee (£64 paid directly to the DVSA)
  • A tailored service to suit your needs and requirements
  • A pick up location mutually convenient for you and your instructor
  • Friendly and swift support from the office team in Dartford
  • Options to fast track your driving lessons and/or driving test date
  • The option to take a learner Logbook to boost your learning & skills whilst reducing the amount of time needed on the road with an instructor.

How many hours will I need for my Intensive Driving Course?

This is the million dollar question... It would be difficult and possibly unprofessional to give a 'one size fits all' answer to this. However, the DVSA have said that on average (their statistics), it usually takes an average of 45 hours of driving lessons with a driving instructor. Plus an additional 25 hours private practice, before you're test ready. Of course this depends on many factors. The driving instructors suitability to you (teaching style) / Your ability to study before and after driving lessons and the rate at which you take in new information before being able to apply it. Complete beginners would most certainly benefit from extra support, especially during the longer than normal wait times for a Driving Instructor - take a look at our learner Logbooks to get you off the ground. Many beginners take advantage of the 30 hour + intensive courses. View our intensive courses here. If you have a little more driving experience or require a quick refresher before a test, a shorter course would be more suited to you. Give us a call us on 0330 133 3930 to discuss your situation in more detail. Take an assessment lesson! We often suggest an assessment lesson to enable an approved driving instructor to evaluate your driving ability and advise you on the most suitable intensive course for you. Assesment lessons start from £45.00 - Book today
